Japanime Games is looking to fill three full-time, remote positions within the US.

We are: 

Producers and translators of anime tabletop games. We’re publishers of games with fine anime art, engaging gameplay, and quality components. We’re a dispersed group, working from home offices across the country and from our Indiana warehouse. 

You are:

  • Ready to travel to game and anime conventions when needed.

Marketing and Communications Manager
Full time, pay to be determined by experience 

As our full-time Marketing and Communications Manager, you are the voice of Japanime Games. You work closely with our Production Manager and are responsible for our marketing and sales campaigns. You nurture our online communities and you build and grow our relationships.  

In the Marketing and Communications Manager role, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Finding new leads and opportunities for marketing online and at conventions.
  • Creating campaigns for distributor and retailer marketing - Creating mailers with new products, send reminder emails about new product and pre-orders.
  • Developing social media and email promotions (convention, seasonal, new releases, crowdfunding campaigns, sales, etc.).
  • Managing social media, email, paid and organic advertising.
  • Managing convention promotions and advertisements.
  • Traveling to approximately 5 conventions and/or trade shows per year.
  • Writing engaging press releases.
  • Crafting, scheduling, and following up on multiple social media platforms.
  • Contacting and managing game reviewers; and also be comfortable doing video interviews with game media to promote and show our games.
  • Managing donation and lending library requests.
  • Further developing and executing our brand voice.
  • Handling customer service questions in email and on social media and crowdfunding campaigns.
  • Participating in the creation and execution of marketing materials, schedules, budget, and timeline.
  • Being prepared to become a “face” of the company, promoting our products through social media on a regular basis.
  • Other duties as assigned. 
Events Coordinator
Full time, pay to be determined by experience

 
As our full-time Events Coordinator, you are in charge of organizing and planning out our many conventions and events that we travel to every year. You are not only an event planner, you are also a travel agent, putting together travel plans and hotel reservations for our crew at all events. You will be working with Team Japanime, our network of volunteers, to schedule who is working each event, and to help put them in place with hobby store anime and/or gaming retailers that would like to host Japanime Events in their store.

In the Events Coordinator role, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Organizing our anime and gaming conventions.
  • Setting up our Shopify poing of sale system for sales at conventions.
  • Getting orders set up in our system for the warehouse to ship to events.
  • Working with conventions to organize panels and gaming events.
  • Working with hobby store retailers to host Japanime Events in-store.
  • Traveling to anime and gaming conventions frequently, approximately two per month.
  • Sometimes renting vehicles to transport booth materials (driver license required)
  • Sometimes traveling internationally (passport required)
  • Managing our volunteer group, Team Japanime.  
  • Other duties as assigned.
 Production and Client Manager
 Full time position, pay to be determined by experience

 
As our full-time Production and Clients Manager, you are in charge of maintaining communication with several production partners, and with the factories that we work with in China. You will work with our many partners to help them determine how best to move forward on their projects and help bring their projects to completion. You will communicate directly with the factory to help organize logistics, and to help with bringing projects to completion. You will need to travel to China at least twice a year to visit the factories that we work with.

In the Production and Clients Manager role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Traveling to gaming conventions about 10 times per year to network with current and potential clients
  • Sometimes traveling internationally (passport required)
  • Communicating with the factories in China directly (Fluent Mandarin a MUST)
  • Helping partners find solutions to their needs in production
  • Helping arrange logistics for incoming freight from China
  • Other duties as assigned.

Not required, but absolutely useful:

  • Proficiency with graphic design and video editing
  • A love of Anime
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Kickstarter
  • Shopify e-commerce platform knowledge
  • Game Industry experience
  • Local to our two home bases a plus – Portland, OR; or Fort Wayne, IN.
  • Multilingual – We work with Japanese, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Korean language partners in addition to English and Chinese.
